SUMMARY:Defending HiEd: Proactive Strategies Against Ransomware Threats
DESCRIPTION:In an era where cyber threats loom larger than ever\, higher education institutions find themselves frequent targets of sophisticated ransomware attacks. The question is no longer “if” but “when” an attack will occur. How prepared is your institution to respond and recover? Join us for an enlightening session led by one of Commvault’s top security experts designed specifically for IT and security professionals in the higher education sector. This session will dive deep into the anatomy of modern ransomware attacks\, providing you with a clear understanding of how these threats operate and evolve. During this session\, we will guide you through real-time scenarios demonstrating the early signs of a ransomware attack and the critical steps needed to mitigate damage. Gain insights from a higher education institution to learn how they tackle these challenges. Learn about the latest strategies and technologies that can help detect these threats at an early stage and explore effective measures to prevent a full-scale security meltdown. By the end of this session\, you will gain invaluable insights and practical tools to enhance your institution’s cybersecurity posture. Equip yourself with the knowledge to not only respond to ransomware threats but to proactively manage and prevent them\, ensuring the safety and integrity of your educational environment. Don’t miss this opportunity to transform your approach to cybersecurity and safeguard your institution’s future. \n\n\n\n(This is a session at the Educause Annual Conference\, October 21-23\, San Antonio\, TX.) \n\n\n\nPresenters: Michael Carroll\, VP SLED Sales\, Commvault; Dean Dang\, Director\, Enterprise Applications and Services\, University of Illinois Chicago
