SUMMARY:AI Tools for Agriculture Conference
DESCRIPTION:Inviting farmers\, researchers\, and agriculture stakeholders to AI Tools for Agriculture\, AI and Farm Viability in NJ Conference. \n\n\n\nProgram FlyerDownload\n\n\n\nIn support of New Jersey’s commitment to become a national leader in AI and establish an AI hub for agriculture\, the New Jersey Big Data Alliance (NJBDA)\, Rutgers University\, Rowan University and Camden County College are proud to host the 2nd annual roundtable conference devoted to bringing farmers\, researchers\, and agriculture stakeholders in New Jersey and the Northeast together to learn about emerging trends in AI for agriculture. \n\n\n\nStrengthening farm viability is a top priority for all of New Jersey’s agricultural community. Challenges from rising land\, labor\, and input costs to unpredictable weather\, shifting pest and disease dynamics\, and increasingly complex markets and regulations require innovative solutions. New opportunities are emerging through rapid advances in artificial intelligence (AI) and its applications across agriculture. \n\n\n\nJoin us for a dynamic workshop exploring how AI is transforming farming. Discover real-world examples\, meet innovators leading the way\, and engage in discussions about how these technologies can enhance efficiency\, resilience\, and long-term farm viability. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nAgenda\n\n\n\n8:00AM Registration and Breakfast9:00AM Welcoming Remarks9:15AM Keynote 110:00AM Lightning Talks10:30AM Break10:45AM Keynote 211:30AM Breakout12:30PM Lunch1:10PM Panel 11:40PM Lightning Talks2:15PM Break2:30PM AI Agriculture2:45PM Panel 23:25PM Closing Remarks3:30PM Networking

SUMMARY:Globus Compute Virtual Webinar Series - Federated Function as a Service for Research Cyberinfrastructure
DESCRIPTION:Growing data volumes\, new computing paradigms\, and increasing hardware heterogeneity are driving the need to distribute computational tasks across a continuum of computing resources. The Function-as-a-Service (FaaS) paradigm pioneered by cloud providers offers a potential solution. We will provide an overview of Globus Compute\, a secure\, reliable federated FaaS platform designed for research computing. We will describe the benefits to researchers (e.g.\, accessibility\, scalability) and to administrators (e.g.\, reduced support burden\, energy efficiency) enabled by distributed execution. We will also review a number of common use cases for the service. \n\n\n\nPre-requisites: Some knowledge of GlobusTarget Audience: Researchers\, IT professionals\, Developers \n\n\n\nAbout the Presenter: Vas is the “customer guy” at Globus\, the de facto standard platform for research data management\, developed and operated by the University of Chicago. He is also a lecturer in the Masters Program in Computer Science at the University\, where he teaches courses on Cloud Computing and Product Management. Vas has over 30 years of experience in operational and consulting roles\, spanning strategy\, marketing and technology\, and was instrumental in bringing many emerging technologies as products to market. He consults with both global enterprises and early stage technology startups on product management and go-to-market strategy.
