Aromal is an incoming senior at Rutgers University double majoring in computer science and mathematics. A summer internship at the financial technology firm Tegra118 as a data analyst helped him gain insight into the 2020 stock market crash following COVID-19 and appreciate the power of data. For over a year, Aromal has worked at the Center for Data Analytics at Kean University researching the association of socioeconomic, demographic, and health factors with vaccination rates in population groups delineated by zipcodes. His current project uses deep learning for medical diagnostics on a large set of images in GPU-equipped HPC environments in collaboration with groups at the Office of Advanced Research Computing at Rutgers, the Center for Data Analytics at Kean, and CAREERS Cyberteam. In his spare time, he enjoys playing volleyball and learning martial arts.
