An exciting new summer undergraduate research program developed by the New Jersey Big Data Alliance (NJBDA) where teams of students, guided by academic and industry mentors, collaborate on data or AI-related research projects sponsored by companies and government organizations over an eight to ten week period during summer 2026.

NJ-RISE will assist sponsors to formulate projects, match their project leads with academic researchers from NJBDA member institutions, recruit talented research students, and provide support for mentors and students for a successful collaboration.
Program Goals
- Promote NJ research in big data and AI
- Foster collaboration between industry and academia
- Train undergraduate students to be successful future researchers
- Support NJBDA’s affiliate members in growing their organization
